Thad Cochran

My father, who was also my school principal, saw to it that we had a school music program. I remember in the second grade playing the sand blocks in the 'kiddy band' and then a tonette as a fourth grader. Piano lessons were required by my mother, and then clarinet lessons as well. Music was just as much a part of our school curriculum as reading and writing were, and I know it made our learning experience much more interesting and rewarding.
