Over the last two decades music has joined the visual arts, physical education and extra curricular activities on the fiscal chopping block of American education. This is tragic because music education enhances one's quality of life, expresses creativity, helps develop life-long skills and, in some instances, leads to a professional career. It also improves a student's overall scholastic aptitudeespecially in math and scienceand music is the voice through which they express myriad emotions while growing up in an increasingly complex society.
