Education is the key to a better quality of life for all Americans, and for our children it is a matter of national priority, and frankly, nothing less than an absolute necessity. At different periods in our nation's history, we have had to relearn the critical importance of music and other fine arts in shaping a meaningful and effective education for children. But, there can be no doubt that the best educationsfrom early childhood onhave incorporated lessons from the world of music. I am convinced that music is a window to creativity that we can ill afford to bypass.
